For distributed energy resources, clause 6.4.1 of IEEE 1547-2018 sets mandatory overvoltage tripping through two functions: OV1 with a default and a range of allowable settings per abnormal performance category, and OV2 with a fixed voltage and clearing time common to all categories. Under clause 4.3 the overvoltage functions respond to whichever applicable voltage is highest in relation to nominal.
